Our Land Acknowledgment

Our Land Acknowledgment

We begin by acknowledging that we gather on the ancestral lands of the Haudenosaunee and other Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for countless generations.  We acknowledge the suffering and displacement they have endured, and we recognize the ongoing challenges they face. At the same time, we celebrate their wisdom, their deep relationship with the Earth, and the rich contributions they have made to our culture, our knowledge, and our understanding of community. We honor their enduring wisdom, resilience, and contributions to our society, even in the face of immense suffering and displacement. As we come together, we recognize our responsibility to listen, learn, and act in ways that support justice, respect, and the ongoing vitality of Indigenous communities. May this acknowledgment remind us of our responsibility—not only to honor the past—but to walk with integrity in the present, learning from Indigenous teachings, supporting justice, and caring for the land that sustains us all.

We recognize the gifts that indigenous people have shared—their knowledge of the land, their teachings of balance and community, their enduring contributions to the world we all inherit. May we open our hearts to listen and learn. May we honor the responsibilities that come with sharing this place, supporting justice, stewardship, and the flourishing of all beings. And may our actions reflect gratitude, humility, and a commitment to walk together in respect and reverence for the living Earth that sustains us.
